Chances are, if you’re looking to shop and or just ogle beautiful clothing in LA, you’ll already be on Melrose Place for The Line and The Row. Now you can add Mansur Gavriel’s recently opened LA shop to your list. It’s the brand’s first West Coast retail location (there are two in NYC). As one might expect for LA, the space is airy and bright with sunshine-yellow vaulted ceilings and tons of outdoor space, including an open-air garden and pond. In addition to housing the brand’s signature and seasonal collections, the store also features an exclusive and limited edition selection of ready-t0-wear styles made in vintage Italian fabrics. Beyond that, there are also a few home goods from around the world curated by designers Rachel Mansur and Floriana Gavriel.
If bags and clothing aren’t your thing, there’s also a flower shop and adjoining cafe called Café Flora that serves simple fare such as soups, pastas, and salads. If you opt for the outdoor seating, you can dine among the bougainvillea, citrus trees, and pink walls — it’s an Instagrammer’s dream.
While at the store, I fell hard for the current season’s new mini folded bag. The white with navy interior and olive colorways are high on my wishlist, but let’s be real — a white leather bag has no place in my life in the grimy city. (Though, that didn’t stop me from buying the white leather slingbacks last year. After wearing them nearly every day for two months and destroying them, I opted for yet another pair, but in a more practical black suede. And if I could, I’d buy this style over and over. It’s already become a classic in my mind.) In the meantime, hide my wallet!
