Like a cat drawn to shiny things, I am immediately entranced by dramatic light. There’s an itch to photograph something in that light that is only satisfied by the action of doing so, and many times, some of my favorite images come from that spontaneous scratching of the itch. This series came about that way, and I realize how my tastes are continuing to evolve when it comes to photography. In the past, I would have likely white-balanced corrected these images to get rid of that golden cast, and get my whites white again. But here, I love the warmth of the light and the way it makes all the browns and beiges in the environment even more tonal.
